How Future Proof is your business?

Let me ask you a question....

How future proof are you in regards to your business?

For example, let's say you rely on Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, or YouTube to generate leads and sales for your business. Tomorrow, they decide they don't like your content, or you can't advertise anymore, or your account is suddenly closed with no way to appeal the decision, and you receive only a vague indication of what you did wrong.

What happens to your business then?

How many of your followers can you contact directly outside of those platforms?

This is not a hypothetical scenario.

This has happened to my clients, and even one most recently who can't EVER advertise on Facebook Ads again.

Their crime?

They were selling a book on how to manage a common illness that affects over 30 million people worldwide.

For some reason, Facebook Ads suddenly took exception to this advertising campaign after nearly 18 months, and well over $150,000 worth of paid advertising decided to disable the account. Several appeals fell on deaf ears, and the matter remains closed as far as Facebook is concerned.

The ads were not changed much in the past 18 months, and you have to ask yourself ... "why?"

I think I know "why." It's big tech pulling the ladder up behind them.

They don't want to play with small businesses anymore. They want to align with the big brands that have big budgets.

It also means that they can rely on less fake news from these brands.

They got what they wanted:

  • Facebook knows all about you and 2 billion others and growing
  • Google tracks your activity across the majority of the top 1 million sites on the internet

Once they had your data, then they said you needed to pay to advertise because your content won't reach your followers.

Now they are systemically closing these smaller accounts for vague reasons so you can't even do that anymore.

Winter is coming!

I got an email from Amazon recently that essentially said (in relation to using their free developer tools), "we can remove you anytime for any reason. In fact, if we want, we can remove you for no reason." In reality, the same rules apply to the rest of Big Tech.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said recently that he sees the news feed disappearing eventually and being replaced by private messaging groups. With a focus on events and groups. Is he running scared now, or is this part of a bigger strategy?

If your business model involves publishing videos to youtube and one of your primary ways of making money is ad revenue, then I'm sure you're acutely familiar with how little YouTube does to support its small content creators. Your videos could be swiftly demonetized soon after they're posted and only reinstated after your video has received 90% of the views it's likely to receive over its lifetime. YouTube also provides an easy avenue for anyone to strike your work with a copyright strike - even if you own every second of the content in your video. Get ready to spend more time in a back-and-forth with YouTube support than actually producing video content for the platform.

Honestly, isn't it just so risky to work with these big tech guys in order to grow your brand and then one day wake up to find your account suddenly "banned" or "disabled"?

The truth is that you're working for the platform - not the other way around. You are not a valuable customer.

So, what am I getting at?

Over the past two years, we have been secretly developing a new software platform with one main goal:

The ability for you to own your own data and not expose yourself to the considerable risks you face when working with social media giants who change direction every 5 minutes because of public opinion, political pressure, or advertising revenue.

We want to make Evolvepreneur a platform that works for you - not one that actively works against you.

You need to future-proof yourself for what is coming

This could mean the ultimate freedom from Big Tech and their handcuffs.

But it's more than that.

We set out to create a business system that would help you manage your whole business in one place, to allow you to build your brand and create your own community that you have 100% control and ownership over.

From e-commerce, community, blogs, podcasting, courses, and memberships and everything in-between.

Here are some of the problems and challenges we set out to solve when designing our platform:

  • Have multiple payment gateways, so in case one causes you grief, you have a fallback
  • Sell your products selectively by country and in their local currency
  • Build dedicated landing pages with our special "quick and smart checkout" element
  • Launch a podcast
  • Manage all your customers in one place
  • Handle downloads easily
  • Quickly launch a membership or course to your customers in days not weeks
  • Manage recurring billing, and if they don't pay, automatically restricting access
  • Handle shipping of physical items
  • Create your own hyper-focused community around your business that you own and control!

These are just some of the challenges we see from our customers!

The next phase of our platform is to offer Evolvepreneur to a select number of new platform owners who we see it as a good fit for both of us.

Our initial private group has gone well, and now it's time to look for a wider audience.

At the same time, we are selective because we want to be able to help our customers get the best results with a personal approach.

So, if you're looking at becoming a platform owner, I suggest you follow the next steps below.

We are also looking for business partners to promote and even implement the platform for their own customers.

Next steps:

  • Take a look at the www.evolvepreneur.app website
  • Check out a recent podcast interview I did on the new platform HERE
  • If you like what you see, then book an appointment with me to discuss the viability of becoming a platform owner
  • Also if you're interested in partnering with us, take a look at this page

If you are currently working with a big tech company like Google, Facebook, or Amazon, I hope you are now more aware of how fragile that relationship is. For the most trivial of reasons, your account can be taken away from you - along with all of the customers you have connected with and any of the unreleased revenue you've recently made.

Please don't think it will never happen to you!

If you want long-lasting success in toady's online economy and not to have your customers suddenly taken away from you, you need your own platform.
